Gotcha Day

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, please allow me to introduce Elizabeth YaLei Hofmeister. This will be a quick update, but just wanted to post a couple new pictures and to quickly tell about meeting Ellie. We will post more later. Ellie did very well throughout the appointment. She interacted with us, offered some smiles and giggles. She has a pretty strong will, currently we are trying to get her to nap and are not successful at the moment. She has taken to Dana fairly well, which is awesome. Dana and our facilitator went to the grocery store while Ellie and I waited for our family pictures were being developed (part of the paperwork process). She did OK for a few minutes, but then she started crying and screaming. As we walked across the street, she was calling for "mama". I was hoping that she meant Dana and she did! Once she saw Dana, she calmed down and wanted Dana to hold her. Great progress!! We are back at the hotel now, but Ellie won't take off her shoes or backpack. She fell asleep in the van for about 10 minutes, so we are hoping that she'll take more of a nap, since it's been a big day for her. OK, we are going to try making the room dark and quiet in the hopes for nap time. We will post more later tonight.

She has a beautiful smile. We were just happy that she would interact with us and even with smiles at that. So blessed.

She loves this backpack. This is the one that she won't take off at the moment.

It wasn't all smiles and giggles. She didn't like having her fingerprints done.
